Fuel Surcharge

The price of diesel fuel is a large factor in the cost of moving freight over the road, and fuel prices have been increasing at a steady rate. When fuel prices rise, Galto Trucking & Logistics applies a Fuel Surcharge, a percentage of the total freight bill to the total of the invoice. When fuel prices lower Galto Trucking & Logistics reduces the charges by a specified amount.

We adjust the surcharge on Wednesday based upon the U.S. National Average Fuel Index of the prior Monday.

The fuel index, published by the Energy Information Administration of the U.S. Department of Energy, is available on the world wide web at: http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/oog/info/gdu/gasdiesel.asp Or via telephone at: 202-586-6966

The table below gives the rates that the fuel surcharge will be charged at based upon the national average.

When the U.S. National Average Diesel Fuel Index is:

At Least But Less Than Fuel Surcharge Will Be:

110.0 cents 115.0 cents 1.0%
